Positivi-Tea Issue 7 – Easter Edition

Hello you lovely lovely lot and a BIGG spring welcome if you are new. Taking imaginary flights to our happy places asap, Mine would be straight to Disney World or an all inclusive beach holiday…let me know in the comments where you would go right now if you could! Back to the real world for a little bit, As I am writing and sharing this issue with you, it is the 1st of April – how on earth are we 4 months into 2021? This year is just flying by, with hopes and wishes for a more normal summer this year for us all. Enough of my rambling about how quick the year has gone lets dive into this weeks issue – If you keep reading you could find some details on how to win some easter treats delivered to your door! Now I have your attention, pop the kettle on, grab your favourite snuggly blanket and let’s begin.

Hello April…

April we welcome you with open arms for hugs and squeezes and all things nice. I’ve put together a little list of positive things that April brings (didn’t mean for that to rhyme maybe I’m a secret poet and just don’t know it..)

  • First things first this year Easter falls on April the 4th… in three days time! Meaning chocolatey treats, easter egg hunts and creme egg’s galore (I think this year the creme egg celebrated its 50th birthday..wowza!)
  • If you know me you know i’m in love with flowers, spring embraces us with the beautifulness of colourful blossom trees, daffodils, Lily of the valley flowers, tulips and hyacinth’s too. (If you play animal crossing you might now be a flower nerd like me – not going to lie it’s where I learnt most of the flower names!)
  • Although rainy days are a plenty here in England there is something about April showers which I love. There’s that saying ‘April showers bring May flowers’ So although the rain can feel grey, think of it as if the showers are feeding the flowers.
  • Longer and brighter days – As the clocks go forward our bodies and minds adjust to the fact it is still light outside at 6pm, and by the end of April it wont get dark till around half 8 meaning roughly 13 hours of daylight a day! B E A U T I F U L
  • Did you know the 2nd of April is ‘Peanut butter and Jelly day’…. I am a massive peanut butter fan and with a splurge of jam it’s a real naughty treat, I hope everyone does the day proud and enjoy’s some P+J (you’re exempt if you allergic to nuts!!!)
  • On the 21st of April we celebrate National Tea Day, us Brits love our tea, to celebrate I think tea and scones with lots of jam and cream are a must! …The historic question… what goes first the jam or cream?… For me the cream acts as butter so has to go first…Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
  • Then the 23rd is National Picnic day, so basically April is no month to be on a diet. It’s not happening! Make sure to dig out your picnic blanket and your paper cups and enjoy a lovely picnic on the 23rd.
  • Last but definitely least it’s my birthday on the 18th so April pretty much wins awards for the best month.

Blossom Watch…

You are probably thinking, what is she going on about…blossom watch? However If you are a blossom nerd like me you can find out about all the blossom info you need on the National Trust website, as they have started a new tradition called #BlossomWatch. Where you can learn about all the different types of blossom, so you know your Apple to your Cherry blossom trees and your Hawthorn to your Elder blossom. They also have a map in which you can find the best spots to find blossom near you. Nature is nurturing for our minds – with research showing that just spending 20 minutes outside in the nature improves our moods. I mean you cant be in a strop under pretty pink blossom trees can you?…This is me telling you to treat yourself to some time outside under a blossom tree this April, they do not bloom for very long so make the most of them whilst they are here, perhaps find a little spot to have a picnic, that would be very cuuute. If you manage to spot some take a photo and use the hashtag #PositiviTeaClub and we can fill our next issue with a pretty blossom overload.

Yummy Easter Bakes…

If you read the last issue you would have seen my recipe for quick and easy millionaire shortbread, A few of you let me know that your tried them which is amazing! I am baking some more easter treats this weekend (after this issue is out so no piccies just yet 😦 ) So I thought I would leave a few links to some yummy Easter recipe inspiration that I think you should defo try. I think you might guess that mini eggs are a top fav of mine!

Something To Brighten Your Day…

I saw this video earlier and just had to share it with you all as it made me smile. I hope it adds some brightness to your day too. An old chap dancing in the street post vaccine…There’s something about the elderly dancing that makes me want to cry happy tears… anyone else?

Click here to watch – you will not regret it.

Practically Perfect…

On the topic of lovely old folk – The Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang bang star/legend Dick Van Dyke at the ripe old age of 95… yes 95, was seen earlier this week, handing out cash to job seekers in Malibu. During these worrying times it has been hard for so many that have sadly lost their jobs due to the pandemic. He must of got up one day and thought right i’m going to do some good. He was seen withdrawing cash from a cashpoint and then simply handing out cash to those waiting in line at a Community Labour Exchange! After the the new Mary Poppins film was released and I read that he said he would star in the re make for ‘nothing’, just because he wanted to do it – I didn’t think he could get any sweeter, then reading this from – independent.co.uk It really made me adore the legend even more. Mr Van Dyke is living proof that it is nice to be nice ❤

Small Shop Shoutout…

I don’t think Iv’e actually met someone who doesn’t love chocolate. Therefore this weeks small shop shoutout had to be a yummy edible recommendation. So this week I proudly dedicate the shoutout to the fabulous team at @Personalisedbakes . They are a home baked brownie delivery service, who specialise in an abundance of flavours with a variety of sizes to choose from. All in which are freshly baked straight through your letterbox. If you have a special occasion coming up then treat someone you love to a tasty treat through their door, all bakes can be personalised too. If you’re a blondie fan then have no fear they make those too! Myself and my partner have tried the triple chocolate brownies and the Oreo ones and they were both sooooo good. So I can honestly recommend these guys with confidence. Crunchy on the top and ultra gooey in the middle, how a brownie should be! They’ve nailed it, the packaging is beautiful too, so be sure to check them out if you fancy a sweet treat this Easter.
